Large Epidote w/ Japan-law twin Quartz (RARE)

Item Description

An adorable and rare 2.0 cm gem tabular Japan-law twin quartz crystal is aesthetically set on this impressive large mounded, 3-dimensional specimen festooned with sharp, lustrous, dark olive-green epidote crystals with a sprinkling of glassy quartz points. The textbook large prism with the chisel termination is 3.0 cm long. Amazingly, for the all the crystal richness, the piece is essentially pristine, except for a tiny bit of bruising at the crown of the piece. The photos do not convery the 3-dimensionality of this fine piece, because or the incredible crystal density. Alaska's Green Monster Mountain is easily the source of the finest US epidotes and they compare favorably worldwide. Specimens of this size, richenss, excellence and habit were recovered in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Rarely on the market, except from recycled advanced collections.
