Large Epidote & Quartz

A striking and exceptional large epidote and quartz combination plate from this small Chinese quarry from a find in the mid-2000s. Specimens of this size and quality are RARE. A dramatic corsage of sharp water-clear quartz points, to 6.5 cm, dominates this sculptural piece. Some crystals have a pretty pink light oxide tinting. Highly lustrous, gemmy to opaque, two-toned olive-green epidote crystals cover the quartz matrix plate. The impressive horizontal terminated quartz crystal is 8.5 cm long. Only one of the major quartz crystals has a gently bruised termination, exceptional for such a large piece. An outstanding and rare large combination example of the species and locality, that looks great from three sides.
