Large DT twinned Calcite (Consie Prince Coll.)

Elmwood calcites are a US classic and this is a dramatic and excellent large matrix display specimen from the Consie Prince Collection. The impressive compound doubly terminated calcite crystal is 14.5 cm, tip-to-tip. The very glassy, transparent to translucent crystal has fine amber color with the highly desirable gemmier, light golden-amber tips. A portion of the crystal is twinned and the side car crystals add panache. The display form on the matrix is outstanding. This beautiful large crystal is in great shape. The two tips have only the most trivial of bruising and small cleaved section is noted near a termination. Fairly valued at $1500.
