Item Description
Rare and impressive large doubly terminated smoky quartz from Governador Valadares. Most Minas Gerais smokies are from Diamantina, Divino das Laranjeiras or an unknown locality. The lustrous, transparent to translucent crystal has variable smoky color and frosted faces. The terminations are dramatically different, with the sharp single at the top and striking, multiple jagged tips at the bottom. The skeletal features on the termination faces add much pizzazz. Complete all-around and in great shape. The single termination has only trivial edge wear. The out-of-sight back and part of one side are contacted, but there is very little actual damage. The crystal GLOWS, when backlit. An important and rare large smoky from this locale from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 753.
