Item Description
A RARE style and exceptional large gypsum crystal from the famous sulfur and celestine mines of Enna Province. This striking, pristine floater crystal is doubly terminated and is dramatically accented by the small crystals along one edge. The crystal is water-clear to translucent and has classic waxy lustre. The double termination or prow on one end adds real character to this impressive piece. Formerly in the Silvano D'Salvo Collection. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1993. Undoubtedly older material, but no proof. Gypsum specimens are this quality and size are RARE from Enna Province.
