Large DT Calcite twin

Item Description

A very sculptural and classic large calcite crystal cluster from this renowned mine. The dominating, dramatic large twinned crystal has multiple terminations on both ends with the highly desirable gemmy golden-amber tips. The attached side car crystals are a super, artistic accent, with the large crystal on the end being a 8.0 cm twin. Complete all-around, this is a striking and excellent 360-degree specimen, that displays beautifully without aid. The large crystal is nearly pristine, with only one small spot of rubbing near the top on the front, a small cleave to one of the sharksteeth terminations and few spots of edge wear near the top on the back side. The side car crystals are in excellent shape, with just a bit of bruising and a couple of cleaved crystals at the basal periphery. There are baryte crystals on the attachment base. Older material from the Consie Prince Collection. Valued by the former dealer at $1400 and worth it. This is certainly one of the finer large display quality Elmwood calcites we have offered at auction.
