A RARE and remarkable large calcite from the Pugh Quarry, one of the most famous collecting sites in Ohio. The classic translucent rich golden-amber crystals have satin lustre faces. Striking multiple terminations on both ends of the huge for the locale 17.8 cm doubly terminated crystal plus the jagged terminations on the feather-like side car crystal dramatically enhance this superlative large calcite. Nearly all of the mulitple terminations are pristine, outstanding for such a large piece. Specimens of this size and quality were collected from the 1950s to 70s, haven't been available for decades and only come from recycled collections.
