Item Description
Indian rubies of this impressive size are very uncommon. This is one large ruby, weighing 583 grams or nearly 1.3 pounds! It is a complete, doubly-terminated floater with good luster and superb, saturated color of pigeon"s blood red. The hexagonal form is well-developed but elegant for such a large beast, in that it tapers gently from the center to the terminations. The crystal looks like it has many stacked layers. It IS a complete floater, intact all around even on the terminations. The two spots of sidewear are on the back, out of sight. There have been literally thousands of these available over the years but few as equant, consistently colored, or just plain as good as this one. Moderate red fluorescence. Valued at $1500-2000. Impress your friends with a giant ruby!
