Item Description
A superbly crystallized, large and stout crocoite crystal from 1970s or 80s finds at the famous Red Lead Mine. The partially gemmy crystal has gorgeous, rich reddish-orange color and is beautifully striated. It is also doubly terminated. The lower coated termination is pristine, with the orange termination being partially bruised, which is certainly only a modest detraction. The central crystal cluster certainly adds pizzazz. This is a very fine example of a large crocoite crystal from this locale. The former 1980s Larry Conklin label has a $950 price and this piece is certainly worth more today because it is such a different and more robust habit than anything coming out of these mines in modern times.
