Item Description

A superb and impressive very large for the locale, sharp, 7.6 x 5.5 x 4.3 cm, rhombohedral dolomite crystal with sidecar crystals is very aesthetically set on the large contrasting 3-dimensional brilliant metallic arsenopyrite crystal matrix. The large crystal is dramatically enhanced by sharp notch hosting a 2.2 cm dolomite rhomb and a cluster of arsenopyrite crystals. Striking geometric triangular growths on the primary frontal face of the large dolomite and contrasting adjacent rippled faces further enhance the lustrous pearlescent rhomb. Ex Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection from a 2009 find and illustrated in the MINDAT Photo Gallery for the species and locality. Simply an exceptional and very sculptural large dolomite crystal and arsenopyrite combination from the famed Panasqueira mines.
