large Dioptase (Type Locality) & Calcite

Item Description

Dioptase specimens from the Type Locality are very uncommon in this large size, richness and quality, especially complimented by a 3.5 cm calcite scalenohedron! The crystals are gemmy and lustrous, have rich emerald-green color and reach 8 mm. They rest on a bed of calcite. Some periphery wear is noted and tip of the calcite crystal is gently cleaved. This remains a significant, large, very rich and important combination specimen from this famous locale. It displays well without aid.
