Item Description

Sharply crystallized silver crystals are festooned on three sides of calcite matrix on this dramatic, large, uncommonly broad specimen from the famous New Nevada Mine. The silver-bearing calcite veins are generally very narrow from Batopilas. This fat piece must be from a vein intersection or an uncommon calcite pod. The crystals have a bright silver burnish to a matte finish. Very interestingly, the very sharp crystals range from spinel-twins, to highly complex modified cubes (most common), to a few cubes. The overall arborescent form of many of the crystal clusters adds much pazzazz to the sculptural piece. Probably older material from the 1960s finds or even earlier. Ex Robert Hauck Silver Collection. Rich silver at 291 grams. Rare in this size, richness and quality. Valued at $1000-1500
