Large crystallized Copper (Soregaroli Coll.)

Item Description

A dramatic, highly sculptural, large floater plate of crystallized copper from this historic district. The impressive front is composed of striking, rounded, elongated to nubby, tetrahexahedral crystals, to 4.2 cm, with a very nice patina. Green malachite in the crevices is a nice accent. The back looks remarkably different! The crystals on the back are sharper, smaller and have a darker patina. Interesting formation chemistry here! Very fine, two-sided, large old-time copper from the Keweenaw and the Art Soregaroli Collection. Valued at $4000-5000.
