Item Description

A dramatic and unusual large flattened crystallized copper from Copper Country and the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. The artistically sculptural piece has an overall striking arborescent spinel-twinned form and is composed of a myriad of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals with a fine buttery copper patina. It has a biomorphic seahorse look with the head and tail at the bottom. Unusually, the crystals have an amazing hoppered texture with many of the hoppers being filled with matrix or analcime. A very exotic and excellent large crystallized copper from the Keweenaw.
