Item Description
Amazing, dramatically 3-dimensional large floater native copper specimen with contrasting embedded chrysocolla from the famous Chino Mine of New Mexico. This fabulous 360-degree piece consists of densely intergrrown, sharp tetrahexahedral crystals to subhedral to anhedral crystals to platy copper. 1453 grams or 3.2 pounds mass. Ex Dave Stoudt Collection, a well-known Santa Fe collector who specializes in Southwest USA species. Interesting handwritten notes on the back of Dave's label indicates that the piece has been cleaned to bring out the rich patina and that the piece was wrapped in Silver City Press newspaper with a 1940 date, when he bought the piece. An outstanding large old-timer from the Chino Mine valued at $3000.
