Item Description
Classic, old-time large two-sided copper from Michigan's historic Copper Country. Sculptural and impressive, the flattened piece has a distinctive biomorphic aspect, it looks like a seahorse with a large head and snout. The nice, rich copper patina enhances the subhedral crystallization of spinel-twins and tetrahexahedral crystals. RARE blebs of blue Chrysocolla on both sides are an exceptional accessory and colorful contrast. Scattered bits of embedded matrix add even more character. 725 grams or 1.6 pounds mass. A very fine and artistic large crystallized copper from the Keweenaw Peninsula. We do not see many large pieces at affordable prices anymore, and there is almost nothing new coming out fresh here.
