Item Description

An impressive and sculptural large floater open latticework of copper from this well-known Cu-Pb-baryte mining area of Morocco. The striking, multi-sided cavernous arborescent specimen is composed of intergrown spinel-twinned Copper crystals, that have been coated with Cuprite. Green Malachite and mustard-yellow iron oxides are typical and strikingly colorful accessories. Formerly in the Dave and Emily Stout Collection. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1995. Copper specimens of this size and quality are uncommon from here.
