Item Description

Pretty turquoise-blue chrysocolla richly covers this dramatically sculptural large arborescent leaf copper from Ajo. This striking two-sided piece is composed of flattened spinel-twins and tetrahexahedral crystals accented with attached matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 119 and acquired in the 1950s, with this low number. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic and colorful large Ajo copper.
