Large Copper (classic Arizona)

An incredibly sculptural large copper from the famous Ray Mine. This distinctive two-sided piece has a definite biomorphic look to it! It looks like a cartoon duck or goose with a very large broad bill attached to the head with a crown, upturned tail and feet and legs paddling along! The hackly copper has a rich patina accented with green malachite or chrysocolla and the striking holes and indentations, where the enclosing matrix once was add real pizzazz and character to the piece. The matrix was probably dissolved from around the copper and gives it the patina. A dramatic and classic large Ray copper! valued $1500
