Item Description
Beautifully, glassy, transparent, color-zoned, fluorite cuboctahedrons cover the undulating surface of this very impressive, large specimen from the famous Shangbao Mine. The gemmy crystals, to 4.0 cm, have pretty blush purple phantoms over colorless interiors. The complex crystal faces range from water-clear, smooth to frosted to having unusual and intense, stepped-growth. The camera had trouble capturing the beauty of these crystals, due to the extreme glassiness. This is older and outstanding material from 1990s production and is hard to obtain in this size and quality today. Pristine, except for periphery wear. Super fluorescence! This is a quite hefty large plate, as the matrix is massive sulfide. 8.6 pounds or 3.9 kilos. Valued at $1250-1500. Plates of this size, quality and coverage having always been rare. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
