Large color-zoned Fluorite

Item Description

A 4.8 x 4.6 x 2.8 cm fluorite cube dramatically crowns this sculptural and deceptive large mounded fluorite specimen from the famous Denton Mine. The densely intergrown cubes appear to be nearly opaque with dark grape-purple to nearly black color with interesting stepped-growth satin lustre faces under normal light. Deceptive, in that back lighting reveals the translucent cubes have beautiful rich violet color with variable color-zoning. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a small bruise on the large cube and the acceptable basal periphery wear. A very expressive and classic large 360-degree dark purple fluorite specimen from this noted locale.
