Item Description

Very large, sharp prismatic colemanite crystals form an impressive and sculptural large plate from these well-known Turkey borate deposits formed in arid alkalai lacustrine environments. The terminated, glassy, translucent, tan to near colorless crystals reach about 4.2 cm. Clusters of gemmy, amber calcite rhombs sprinkled about are a nifty accent. The barely noticeable bit of bruising and noted modest periphery wear are certainly minimal detractions to this excellent large piece from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Bright white fluorescence.
