An impresssive and sculptural large orpmient specimen from Quiruvilca, source of some of the finest examples in the world. Lustrous, translucent, multi-generational, rich burnt-orange crystals with striking accenting yellow highlights cover the rolling mixed sulfide matrix. The large crystals at one end reach 3.0 cm. This very fine large piece is pristine. The piece has a excellent provenance, having been in the collection of Dr. Miguel Romero # 2207. He assembled the world's finest collection of Mexican minerals before he passed away in 1997. It was on display in his musuem in theuacan, Mexico and comes with his base. valued $1500-2000
