Item Description

Starting about 1985, some of the world's finest anhydrite specimens were recovered from this well-known Tuscany Fe pyrite deposit opened in 1983 and closed in about 2003. This superb and very sculptural large combination is dominated by the striking, pristine, 6.3 stout spearpoint at the top of the piece. Dramatically set on a diverging cluster of smaller blades, the pearlescent, translucent, bone-white anhydrites are fantastically, preferentially coated with tiny creamy-white dogtooth calcite crystals. The noted broken smaller anhydrites have minimal impact to the overall exceptional quality of this outstanding large combination. Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection. Valued at $1000-1500.
