Large Chevkinite-(Ce) (rare REE silicate) ex Obodda

The world's finest examples of Chevkinite-(Ce), a rare REE silicate probably come from this obscure Pakistan locality. The sculptural large combination piece is capped by rather lustrous, sharp, terminated, tapered chevkinite crystals measuring up to 3.3 cm across. The terminations are mostly matte-finish. Dense sprays and clusters of lustrous actinolite prisms underlie the chevkinites. This is an impressive and highly representative large example of the rare species in combination from this uncommon locale, despite a bit of damage here and there.
