Large Chalcedony stalactites

Item Description

An impressive and huge parallel-growth cluster of multi-hued and multi-layered, translucent and nubby chalcedony stalactites from a recent find in Java, Indonesia. The knob on one face at the end, the preferential coatings on the stalactites and the angled broken stalactite at the base are noteworthy. The broken base reveals the large-diameter hollow tubes, where the silica-rich solutions flowed to form the stalactites. This one has colors from tan to lavender. Pristine, except for one small side bruise. Dramatic, colorful and unusual material from an exotic locale for mineral specimens! We have seen similar sold at Tucson this year as "Fossil Bamboo" in the $1500-2500 range.
