Item Description
Beautiful, gem, steel-blue celestine crystals are studded in a sculptural geode on this impressive large specimen from the classic locale at Sakoany. Prisms in the center of geode reach about 5.5 cm long and the large crystal with a sawtooth edge attached to a wall also being about 5.5 cm long. Some crystals have textbook chisel terminations and some do not. Sakoany celestines are the world's finest and this is a dramatic and excellent "small" large richly filled geode. The interior of the hefty piece is pristine. MUCH BETTER in person, the gemminess and glassiness made photography difficult. . Ex Bob Reynolds Collection, a well-known fossil and mineral expert and Curator of the San Bernardino County Museum. 3089 grams or 6.8 pounds mass.
