Striking sharp phantoms in this sculptural and impresssive intergrown cluster of large calcite crystals from the famous Sweetwater Mine. The glassy, highly lustrous, translucent crystals have rich golden-yellow color, enhanced by the striking stepped-growth faces. The largest crystal, at 10.7 cm, is twinned and the adjacent doubly terminated and twinned crystal is 8.7 cm. The frontal display view is pristine. The white spot on the large crystal is internal and the periphery wear on the back side is out-of-sight. Classic and excellent large old calcite from the Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock dating to the 1970s or early 1980s. Seldom on the market in this large size and quality today.
