Item Description

A dramatic large calcite specimen from the famous BrushY Creek Mine. The striking row of sharp scalenohedrons rising above the plate of smaller crystals reminds me of the jagged mountains of the Grand Tetons in Wyoming or shark's teeth. An impressive accent is the 12.0 cm, doubly terminated and twinned flat lying calcite crystal. Most of the gray crystals have the classic overgrowth of sparkly chalcopyrite or marcasite crystals over the original scalenohedrns with a secondary calcite overgrowth partially covering the sulfides. This outstanding large piece displays fabulously from either with a totally different perspective. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a couple of gently bruised large crystal tips. Ex Consie Prince Collection. Valued at $2000-2500 for dramatic quality and size. Certainly one of the finest and most sculptural large Brushy Creek calcites you'll see.
