Item Description

An impressive large twinned calcite crystal from the famous and now-closed Gralex Quarry of Belgium. The unusual twin, with a nifty smaller protruding rhomb at the termination is lustrous, translucent and has very rich golden-amber color that GLOWS, when backlit. Complete all-around the lower portions of the prism faces have very interesting etch patterns, with the termination faces being smooth. Nearly pristine, with only slight scuffing on the termination and one spot of side wear. Fine, very classy and classic large calcite from this locale from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Valued at $1000-1500, for quality, size and rarity.
