Item Description
Translucent, lustruos, highly modified calcite scalenohedrons with frosted faces are strikingly strewn across the basalt crust on this impressive and dramatic large specimen from Irai. The calcites reach about 4.0 cm (the fat one at the top) and the doubly terminated crystal is 3.5 cm long. The plate is coated with gray chalcedony and is underlain by starkly contrasting green celadonite or chlorite. Pristine. A very fine aesthetic large example from the John Lindell and Art Soregaroli Collections.
