Item Description
A dramatic and sculptural large matrix calcite combination specimen from Elmwood. Classic highly lustrous, glassy, gemmy to translucent crystals of strikingly different forms are aesthetically scattered on the brecciated matrix of sparkly quartz microcrystals covering plates and knobs of rubyjack sphalerite. Some of the amber crystals have the desirable golden-amber terminations and edges. The prominent central crystal, at about 10.0 cm, has a stunning series of graduated sawtooth tips. The artistic 8.8 cm crystal on the right is pristine, doubly terminated and twinned. Very nearly pristine, with only trivial bruising. Amazing for such a large complex specimen with mulitple isolated crystals. The overall presentation with isolated crystals and geometry of this piece is remarkable. Ex Paul Zerfass Collection # 38. Fairly valued at $2000-2500.
