A surreal and highly unusual style of large rhodochrosite with calcite from the famous and ancient Type Locality for rhodochrosite - Cavnic (from very old times!). A fabulous dense forest of parallel-growth, shimmering pearlescent, rich pastel-pink flattened rhodochrosite rhombs is dramatically draped by a mounded cluster of glassy, translucent, colorless, complex calcite rhombs. This two-sided rib has outstanding visual impact and sculptural combination quality. Neon-pink calcite fluorescence. Very rare in this style, combination and size. Choice material from the S.W. Logan Collection # 1327 and valued at $1500 by the former dealer. It's well worth the price. This is an exceptional display specimen with unusual aesthetics and a good story.
