Item Description

RARE and stunning large amethystine quartz and calcite plate from the much less well-known Santa Rita Mine (Bolanitos Mine) on the La Luz vein system at famed, historic Guanajuato. Clusters of calcite rhombs are dramatically preferentially draped on all of the striking dense cluster of variably-sized very glassy, translucent light blush-purple quartz crystals. They resemble white wigs from days of old! It is a classic style! A much larger 2.0 cm calcite rhomb on the left side is a super accent. Mineral specimens are VERY RARE from this mine compared to its much more famous and prolific neighbors, the Rayas and Valenciana mines.
