Item Description
A well-placed 5.0 cm dogtooth calcite crystal dominates this aesthetic and rich 3-sided specimen from the historic mines of the Joplin Field. The glassy, transparent to translucent, calcites have variable light straw-yellow color and the crystals are enhanced by the beautiful stepped-growth faces. Several of the crystals are doubly terminated, including the 5.8 cm crystal on the right side. The calcites spill over onto the bottom and include a 6.3 cm doubly terminated crystal. The back shows the contacted matrix of galena cuboctahedrons. Classic and excellent large old-time combination material from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 51.
