Large Calcite incl. w/ Hematite

A dramatic and sculptural large matrix cabinet calcite specimen from recent finds in Chenzhou. Rust-red hematite preferentially includes the two striking, very nearly pristine, tan calcite crystals. The stepped-growth faces of the lustrous, translucent crystals look like reptile hide or tree bark and REALLY enhance the quality of the piece. The doubly terminated crystal is 14.7 cm and the other is 14.3 cm long. Minute bruising to the tip of the doubly terminated crystal is noted, The artistic intergrown quality of the strikingly included calcites, placement on the gossan matrix and form of the matrix really make for a stunning piece.
