Impressive and sculptural large solid botyroidal malachite crust from the famous Star of Congo Mine. The rolling architecture of the rich forest green, lustrous, dramatically variably sized botryoids is a joy to behold. The remarkable large compound botryoid is 10.8 cm long. This imposing large botryoidal malachite has several fine display views and the back of this solid malachite crust is interesting in itself. It displays concave cast-like features full of vuggy texture. 1833 grams or 4.0 pounds mass. This famous copper-cobalt mine is extinct commercially, but artisanal mining by locals has recovered more fine specimens. An outstanding large example of banded botryoidal malachite from the noted locale.
