Item Description

The Irhoud baryte mine of Morocco has recently produced some excellent botryoidal hematite specimens, very reminiscent of classic English specimens of the 1800s. Splendent, mammillary, grayish-brown hematite botryoids cover this impressive large specimen. It is more lustrous than most of the English hematites (even accounting for the fact that, as with all of these, one must assume they are lightly buffed in any case). The parallel-growth clusters of the brilliant botryoids make for a dramatic specimen. 7.5 pounds or 3.4 kilos mass.
