Item Description
Surreal, large biomorphic crystallized copper from the famous Ray Mine of Arizona. The head and arms resemble Treebeard the Ent from the Lord of the Rings! The very 3-dimensional flattened copper specimen is composed of rounded tetrahexahedral crystals with a nice patina. The striking angular form of the lower portion of the piece is due to the removal of sharp angular matrix breccia fragments. And there are still numerous breccia pieces embedd in the copper at the base of the piece. The front of the piece is outstanding. Epoxy has been used to reinforce the base of the piece on the back. This is a stunning 360-degree large copper from the Ray Mine and the Gary Weaver Collection.
