Item Description
Bipyramidal wulfenite crystal spikes are dramatically studded on the front, crest and back of this impressive large sculptural specimen from the famous 2008 finds at Mina Ojuela. The sturdy undulating gossan matrix is encrusted with tiny sparky spherical aggregates of olive-brown mimetite microcrystals. I particularly like the way the larger lustrous, translucent, butterscotch-colored prisms are concentrated along the crest the piece, adding impact. The spike on the top is 1.5 cm and larger doubly terminated crystals, to 2.0 cm, are noted on the back. For such dense coverage, overall the piece is in great shape, with few broken crystals. A fine large two-sided piece from the find. Valued at $2000.
