Item Description

An imposing large specimen of bi-colored, stepped-growth fluorite cubes from this famous locale. The lustrous, bi-colored rich purple to white cubes, to 5.0 cm, are transparent to translucent and have this incredible preferential dense coating of tiny, sparkly, brown siderite rhombs on some of the cube faces. Periphery wear is noted, as is a bit of very modest bruising in the interior, but this remains an outstanding and RARE large example of the combination species. This most impressive large combination piece probably dates from 1892 to the closing of the mine in 1931. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection. Bright purple fluorescence! Value???
