Item Description
Glassy, translucent, densely intergrown bi-colored light green and colorless compound fluorite cubes, to 2.5 cm, form an impressive, showy and rich large mounded plate from the well-known quarries of the L'Argentolle area. Iron oxide inclusions and coatings add a nice contrast and patina. The quarries are known for fluorite and this is an excellent large plate for the locale. Rich purple fluorescence. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1998. According to Chet's catalogue, the mine this piece came from closed in 1972.
