Item Description
Fluorite and siderite combinations of this large size, richness and quality are very uncommon from this historic old and extinct Weardale mine. Glassy, bi-colored fluorite cubes are richly clustered and isolated on the impressive and surprising mounded matrix of coated intergrown spherical aggregates of siderite blades. The fluorite cubes, to 2.4 cm, are water-clear to cloudy white and have beautiful areas of violet and green color. Scattered small sharp glassy di-pyramidal (beta style) quartz crystals are a super accessory. The SURPRISE is the 6.5 cm vug on the underside lined with more gemmy, mostly green fluorite cubes! Outstanding, sculptural and pristine large 360-degree classic combination material from the Boltsburn Mine. Valued by the former dealer at $900 and well worth it. Rich purple fluorescence, as you would expect.
