Item Description
An impressive, very substantial large two-sided fluorite rib from this classic old Weardale area lead and fluorite mine. Dramatically intergrown, lustrous, gemmy to translucent, glassy rich purple cubes with striking frosted white areas cover all sides of this architectural mounded piece. The beautiful cubes reach 2.8 cm. Pristine, amazing for such a large piece. Rich purple fluorescence. Ex Dr. Stephen Moreton Collection and collected in 2005. This outstanding piece is illustrated in the MINDAT locality Photo Gallery with a September, 2018 photo by Dr. Moreton. The sculptural two-sided appearance is remarkable. Valued at $1750-2000 for quality, large size and rarity.
