Item Description

An impressive, very large and uncommon beryl crystal from the famous Rice Quarry. This teal-blue and ivory giant is lustrous and moderately translucent to quite gemmy, especially the teal-blue areas. The textbook hexagonal beryl crystal is doubly terminated, complete all-around and nearly pristine. The upper termination appears to be broken (in situ) and totally "rehealed" by later growth. The lower termination is also an old break, with some contacting. The prism faces are pristine. This is an outstanding, partially gemmy and rare beryl crystal from this classic New England locale. Seldom on the market in this very large size! Ex Robert Whitmore Collection. 2.1 pounds or 957 grams.
