Large Baveno-twin Microcline w/ Schorl ex Obodda

Item Description

A sculptural and impressive large 360-degree Baveno-twinned microcline crystal from the pegmatites of the Raikot area of Gilgit-Baltistan. The sharp crystal has a very fine sharp termination and fine form all-around. Adding much character and contrast, the lower half of all sides of the porcelaneous lustre, layered crystal are covered with small 2nd generation microcline crystals and a rich sprinkling of lustrous black schorl tourmalines, to 2.3 cm. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a gentle bruise/contact on the termination. This outstanding large combination specimen is from the late Fall of 2005 find.
