Item Description
White barite has surficially altered this impressive, rich specimen of solid barytocalcite from this famous old Pb-Zn-fluorite-barite mine. Jackstraw clusters of glassy, brown, parallel-growth barytocalcite blades comprise this solid specimen of this uncommon Ba-carbonate. Periphery wear on the front and the contact on the back reveals the barytocalcite. Ex Dr. Stephen Moreton Collection and collected in October, 1993. It is illustrated in the MINDAT locality Photo Gallery with a September, 2018 photo by Dr. Moreton. Specimens of this size, richness and quality are RARE from here. Valued at $1200-1500.
