Item Description
Mineral specimens are uncommon from this old German fluorite mine and large barite crystals are rare. The is a sculptural large plate of lustrous, glassy, translucent, variable golden-yellow compound barite blades. In great shape, overall. The interior is pristine. Most of the edges are also all there, with only a couple areas of periphery wear. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6342 and acquired in 1968. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). An exceptional large barite from the locale.
