Item Description
Dramatic and sculptural large old-time barite from the renowned mines at Frizington. Two opposing parallel-growth clusters of very glassy, translucent, greenish-gay tabular spearpoints form this remarkable piece. The topline on the piece looks like an incredibly jagged mountain range from both sides! The impressive large crystal at the top is 8.5 cm and doubly terminated crystals on the base reach 9.0 cm. The noted periphery and side wear are certainly only a modest detraction to this important large old classic, that probably dates prior to World War I. Specimens of this size and quality are seldom on the market. Valued at $2500 and worth it.
