large Baryte, Fluorite, Marcasite & Calcite

Item Description

Dramatically sculptural and very uncommon large combination specimen from the well-known Moscona Mine in Asturias, Spain. Sharp, lustrous, translucent, tabular, blue Baryte blades. to 1.6 cm, are richly and aesthetically scattered on the 3-dimensional matrix. The striking large crevice shows, that most of the matrix is composed of yellow Fluorite cubes. Uncommon, sparkly, golden Marcasite botryoids cover the dense cluster of fluorite cubes on one end, adding pizzazz. Accenting Calcite scalenohedrons, to 4.0 cm (doubly terminated) are a fine and typical accessory. There are also scattered small clusters of classic, saddle-shaped Dolomite crystals scattered about. The back of the piece hosts many more Baryte crystals, as a bonus. The mass is 2034 grams or 4.5 pounds. Formerly in the Antonio Moncayo Collection. Ex Raul Sanabria Collection.
